Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced FHIR Developer with a strong background in healthcare information systems and a deep understanding of HL7 FHIR standards. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing FHIR-based solutions to ensure seamless interoperability across healthcare platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- FHIR Development & Integration:Design and implement solutions leveraging FHIR APIs and resources for healthcare data exchange. Integrate FHIR-based solutions with existing electronic health record (EHR) systems and other healthcare platforms.
- API Development & Management:Develop and maintain RESTful APIs based on HL7 FHIR standards. Optimize API performance and scalability for real-time healthcare data exchange.
- Custom FHIR Resource Implementation:Customize and extend FHIR resources to meet specific project and organizational needs. Define FHIR profiles and implement validation mechanisms for compliance.
- Collaboration & Troubleshooting:Work closely with cross-functional teams, including healthcare providers, IT teams, and business stakeholders. Diagnose and resolve issues in FHIR implementations and ensure robust system interoperability.
- Compliance & Security:Ensure adherence to healthcare industry regulations, including HIPAA and GDPR. Implement secure authentication and authorization protocols (OAuth2, OpenID).
- Documentation & Training:Create comprehensive technical documentation for developed solutions. Provide technical guidance and training to junior developers and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Technical Expertise:Proficient in programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript. Strong experience with RESTful APIs and data formats like JSON and XML.
- Healthcare Standards:In-depth knowledge of HL7 standards, including FHIR resources, profiles, and implementation guides. Familiarity with HL7 v2, CDA, or DICOM is a plus.
- Domain Knowledge:Solid understanding of healthcare workflows and information systems, including EHRs and EMRs.
