Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced FHIR Developer with a strong background in healthcare information systems and a deep understanding of HL7 FHIR standards. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing FHIR-based solutions to ensure seamless interoperability across healthcare platforms.
Key Responsibilities
FHIR Development & Integration:
Design and implement solutions leveraging FHIR APIs and resources for healthcare data exchange. Integrate FHIR-based solutions with existing electronic health record (EHR) systems and other healthcare platforms.
API Development & Management:
Develop and maintain RESTful APIs based on HL7 FHIR standards. Optimize API performance and scalability for real-time healthcare data exchange.
Custom FHIR Resource Implementation:
Customize and extend FHIR resources to meet specific project and organizational needs. Define FHIR profiles and implement validation mechanisms for compliance.
Collaboration & Troubleshooting:
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including healthcare providers, IT teams, and business stakeholders. Diagnose and resolve issues in FHIR implementations and ensure robust system interoperability.
Ensure adherence to healthcare industry regulations, including HIPAA and GDPR. Implement secure authentication and authorization protocols (OAuth2, OpenID).
Documentation & Training:
Create comprehensive technical documentation for developed solutions. Provide technical guidance and training to junior developers and stakeholders.
Requirements
Proficient in programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript. Strong experience with RESTful APIs and data formats like JSON and XML.
In-depth knowledge of HL7 standards, including FHIR resources, profiles, and implementation guides. Familiarity with HL7 v2, CDA, or DICOM is a plus.
Solid understanding of healthcare workflows and information systems, including EHRs and EMRs.
